I went to Mashabo with Willow and Anca to do a little program with the primary school students. This is something that the headmaster (principle) of the school has given us permission to do every week to help teach the kids about Jesus. We had a couple hours to work with so we were excited! We walked the five miles from BMMC to Mashabo, enjoying numerous butterflies and a beautiful little red snake on the road along the way. When we arrived at the school they were ready for us to take over. We sang a lot of fun action songs with the kids that they really got into, told them some stories, and played a rather unsuccessful game with them. We played a game called fruit basket upset, where every sits in chairs in a circle facing the middle. There is one less chair than people (like musical chairs) and the person in the middle calls out something that a lot of people might have in common. If what is called applies to you, you have to jump up and find a new chair to sit in. For example: "Everyone who is wearing anything that's blue!" Whoever is left standing has to think of the next thing to call out. Unfortunately the kids were too shy to say a word when they were up. We even tried to help them by whispering options to them. They didn't go for it though. We would finally just have them stand in the middle and call things out for them. Silly kids.

After our two hours with them were up, we started our long walk back to BMMC. We practiced our Bible memorization texts as we walked. It helped the time go by a bit faster. My favorite part of the return journey was coming across a huge Yellow Tail snake. It must have been easily 6 feet long. I wish you could tell the size of this snake in the pictures. It was pretty cool! I got fairly close to him before it slithered into the safety of the jungle. What a neat thing to see!
