Bible Memorization

Michael and I have a bit reluctantly agreed to join the Bible memorization class in their memorizing efforts. Gilbert, the teacher of that class, thought it would be helpful if each staff member that was willing could pair up with a student that they could quiz throughout the week. The students quiz us too so we can all keep each other accountable. They are already a couple weeks into their memorization, so we have much to catch up with (Gilbert only asked us to do this the other day). There are 40 texts we will be attempting to commit to memory, some of them being multiple verses. Yikes! But we are on our way.

It's so nice for Michael and I to have each other since we quiz each other daily as well. We thought of a kind of fun idea to help us in our memorizing efforts. We got a bunch of construction paper and markers and are drawing little pictures to help remind us of our texts. For example, the 8 of Isaiah 1:18 I made into a snowman. The hope is that when I look at the picture it will trigger the part of the text that says "though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow," and the rest of the text will fall into place easily. :D

Who knows if it will actually help, but we are sure having fun making them and taping them up all over the walls of our little house!
